The Feature race of Abu Dhabi's final round of the GP2 Series 2013 ended with the nineteenth place for Stefano Coletti.
The Monegasque driver produced a stunning start that allowed him to gain seven positions and get into the points since the beginning. During the race the safety car was deployed twice which did not play in favour of his strategy and Coletti was therefore forced to a second and unscheduled pit stop towards the end of the race. The victory went to Alexander Rossi (EQ8 Caterham Racing), Joylon Palmer (Carlin) was second and Marcus Ericsson (Dams) third. The fourth place went to Fabio Leimer (Racing Engineering), who clinched the drivers' title.
The classification now sees Leimer at the lead with 191 points, followed by Bird at 173 and Nasr at 154. Coletti is fifth at 135.
Stefano Coletti: "I managed to get the most out of the getaway and gained several positions since the beginning. In the initial laps I kept a good pace and the points seem well at my reach; when the super soft rubber started to go off I had to struggle more than expected to get into the pits window and even on medium tyres the situation did not improve therefore in the final stages I had to make another pit stop.
This has been Fabio Leimer's day: my congratulations on a truly deserved title go to him and to the whole team Racing Engineering".
The weekend's programme will continue tomorrow with the Sprint Race scheduled for 10.15 (GMT+2) with live coverage on Sky Sport F1 HD.
