Van der Garde joins Barwa Addax at Jerez

Giedo van der Garde will test for Barwa Addax in the official GP2 test at Jerez this Wednesday. The testing will be used for the team and driver to have the opportunity to get to know each other better, in order to see if there is the potential for a seat for Giedo with Barwa Addax for the 2010 GP2 Main Series.

Driving for iSport International Giedo finished in his first GP2 year in seventh position. This result meant he finished behind eventual champion Nico Hulkenburg as best "rookie" for the 2009 series. After a difficult start to the season his results improved and culminated in three wins on the circuits of Hungaroring, Spa-Francorchamps and Monza (wet race) in the second half of the season.

Giedo: "My development during the season and my strong and consistent performances in the last races give me a lot of confidence for the forthcoming season. My target is to be champion in 2010."

Giedo is keeping his options open for 2010 as alongside Barwa Addax there are several teams that are interested in racing with Giedo in 2010. There are also conversations with iSport International about continuation of his current team contract in 2010.
