Facu Regalia confirmed at ART Grand Prix for GP3
The Argentine driver, after debuting last year in the series, is going to drive a car fielded by ART Grand Prix, one of the strongest and more successful teams in GP3.
Facu Regalia will drive for ART Grand Prix this year in the GP3 series, another step forward for the young driver managed by Adrián Campos.
After finishing in style last season, claiming both race wins in Barcelona for the session finale of the European F3 Open, a championship where scored another win in Hungary and other podiums at Nürburgring or Paul Ricard, not forgetting his brilliant performance in Auto GP as well.
I´m looking forward to drive the new GP3/13 at Estoril next week...
He also explained that “I really want to appreciate the effort coming from my sponsors, Varlion, ACA and my family once again. People such Adrián Campos and Eduardo Ramírez have an important role to secure my present and future in motorsport.
We´ve an excellent working team and everything is set to aim for the best possible results. Other two people very important are is Mr. Rosales, the ACA president, and Mr. García Remohì, CDA President in my country, because they chose us as the next Argentine project towards Formula 1 and to carry my country´s flag”.
Finally Argentina´s driver is happy because “GP3 is a very important championship, always racing at the same tracks as Formula 1.
Another great novelty is the new car, with more power and improved brakes and a more advanced aerodynamic package, so this challenge is even greater.
I´m looking forward to drive the new GP3/13 at Estoril next week, and according my new team is going to have a similar performance to first generation GP2 car”.
Frédéric Vasseur, from ART Grand Prix, explained that “we have closely followed the evolution of Facu including his performances during GP2 testing.
His GP3 debut during the 2012 season was by nature very complicated, but he was instantly knocking on the door of the top 10. This in itself is a sign of quality that never fails to impress.
Facu is an intelligent and talented young man who is also very mature for his age. He will fit in well with ART Grand Prix and in complete harmony with the team´s 2013 GP3 driver line up”.
GP3 has scheduled eight meetings in 2013 starting in May and finishing in November and visiting countries like Spain, England, Italy, Belgium, Germany or Abu Dhabi.
