Addax Team had a discreet weekend at the Hungaroring circuit. Unfortunately mechanical failure in Mirko Bortolotti's car spoilt all the good work that the team and drivers had done because he was in line for a good result. Felipe Guimarães fought hard all weekend without too much luck on his side. Pablo Sanchez was unable to escape from the crowded peloton of drivers.

Mirko Bortolotti is adapting well to this class. He started the weekend with a discreet 15th position in the free practice session. He improved on this to finish the qualifications in 10th place. He made a great start in the first race and he kept up a good race rhythm throughout and was running in sixth, when on the last bend his fuel supply was cut. He crossed the line slowly in 11th position, having lost five places on the finish straight. Not for the first time this season all the good work by the team of mechanics and drivers was turned upside down as a result of faulty mechanical elements. Mirko was in a points scoring position which cruelly disappeared from his grasp and this also would have meant starting from a priveleged position in the second race. Furthermore, the driver who benefitted from his mechanical mishap to finish eighth was presented with an unlikely pole position. To add insult to injury, the same driver went on to win the second race. Bortolotti had to settle for an 11th place start in the second race. He was initially blocked by Varhaug at the start, who was clearly slower down the straight but he managed to overtake before the first corner. He continued to make progress and finally finished in eighth position. It's a shame that mechanical failure deprived him of a fair number of points this weekend.

Felipe Guimarães, once more showed his fighting spirit this weekend, without much reward. He was the 6th fastest in free practice and set the 11th quickest time in the qualification session. He was seriously affected at the start because the driver just in front made a bad start blocking his progress. He drove the whole race pressing his rival ahead, who was clearly holding him up on a circuit where it is notoriously difficult to overtake and it wasn't until the last lap that he finally got past. In the second race the situation repeated itself but this time with Christiansen. This time round, when trying to change his line to overtake Felipe collided with the rear part of his rival's car which finished his participation for the weekend. No reward for a fighting performance from an authentic rookie.

Pablo Sanchez Lopez, is still fighting to break away from the main pack of drivers but he's finding it very difficult. He finished 22nd after free practice, a position he repeated in the qualification session. In the first race he had climbed to 17th when in an attempt to overtake, he was hit by another driver which meant that he had to start the second race as one of the back markers. He drove another serious race and managed to make a great fightback, climbing to a creditable 16th position at the finish. Given the difficulties of overtaking at this circuit, his performance in the second race is worthy of a special mention. When he is fortunate enough not to suffer from any accidents it will be just a question of time before he is higher up in the rankings.

The seventh event of this 2010 GP3 season will take place as part of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit from 27th-29th of August.
