Koiranen confirms Raghunathan for GP3 season

The Indian joins Matevos Isaakyan and Matt Parry in what is so far a three-car line-up.

"I am extremely excited to drive with Koiranen GP this year in GP3," Raghunathan said.

"Koiranen GP is a very strong team with good results in the series and I hope to learn a lot from their experience and give my best performance in my rookie year."

Raghunathan, 17, entered the European single-seater scene in 2014 with a campaign in Italian F4, where he finished 12th.

He moved up to European Formula 3 the year after, racing for Motopark, albeit did not score any points during his 10 rounds in the series.

The Indian, who becomes the first representative of his country to race in GP3, tested with Campos and Trident in the post-season sessions in Abu Dhabi in 2016 and made his first appearance with Koiranen in the recent shakedown for the new Dallara GP3/16 at Magny-Cours.

He is also set to race in the revamped Auto GP Formula Open series in Italy.
