Bangalore, December 17, 2000: Amornteprith Srikasithi of Thailand raced away to victory to claim top honours in the final leg of the TVS UAM-Asia International Moto-X 2000 Championship in Bangalore. He won the overall championship amassing a net total of points after 5 legs of the championships. The race was held at the Morzaria Grounds, Dairy Circle Bangalore, where a large group of spectators had assembled to witness high class performance of man on machine.

Mr. R Chandramouli, VP (Sales & Marketing), TVS-Suzuki Ltd, the main sponsorers of the event said, 'Over the years TVS has cultivated an association with Motorsports and with this endeavour we are delighted to be part of the first International Racing event in India'. He further added, 'TVS has embarked on a major initiative through TVS Racing to promote and garner untapped talent in Motorsports and we see ourselves heading in the right direction to reinforce a sport in this country that is popular worldwide.'

Organised by the Federation of Motorsports Club of India (FMSCI), the championship witnessed class riders from Thailand, amongst others batting the demanding conditions to try and win the coveted title. The apex world body in Motorsports - the FIM (Federation Internationale De Motorcyclisme - Suisse), recognizes this event. This world body governs all forms of two wheeler sports around the world. A constitute of the FIM - the Asian body - The UAM (Asian Motorcycle Union) is a non profit Asian association that organizes motorcross and road racing championships in Asia every year.

Nipendar Jassi and Rustom Patel, representing the TVS Racing team rode hard for the 2nd and 3rd positions. TVS Racing has won many laurels in Racing Championships over the last couple of years, and added another feather in its cap by winning the recently held MRF National Motorcross Championship.
