The New York round, which was publically unveiled last week, is scheduled for the weekend of July 15-16, a date that will re-ignite the debate about a clash with the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The sportscar series has already announced its Nurburgring round on the same weekend, although a previous version of the Formula E calendar had the Montreal round on this date.
At present, six drivers compete in a combined programme with the two championships – Lucas di Grassi, Adam Carroll, Sam Bird, Loic Duval, Stephane Sarrazin and reigning champion Sebastien Buemi.
The first ever Montreal ePrix, which is set for a circuit close to the town hall in the city, will now be the championship finale on the final weekend of July.
The proposed rounds provisionally scheduled for April 22 and June 24 have been scratched from the calendar. Singapore, Long Beach and a potential London race had been discussed to fill these dates.
A race in London is believed by Motorsport.com to be under consideration for season four of the championship in 2018.
Monaco and Paris have been confirmed as back-to-back events, while the inaugural Brussels ePrix is set for July 1, with the event believed to be taking place close to the famous Atomium and the Stade Roi Baudouin.
The Marrakesh race has been confirmed for the 12th November to tie in with the UN global climate change summit which takes place in the city from 7-18 November.
Only the Buenos Aires ePrix in the Puerto Madero area of the city remains as an ever-present in the series’ three season history.
