In its latest latest fan-centric initiative, Mahindra’s Formula E squad asked racing enthusiasts to design Nick Heidfeld’s race suit for his upcoming home race in Berlin, Germany.
To participate in the contest, which lasted until May 14, fans had to download the official kit from the Driver by Design webpage, alter the race suit as per their wish, and upload it back on the website for approval.
Over 190 participants from 14 countries signed up for the contest, submitting 480+ designs in total.
The youngest participants were two four-year-old kids, from Switzerland and the UK respectively.
Unsurprisingly, the highest number of entries came from India, with a sizeable chunk of submissions from Italy and the UK.
Mahindra is currently evaluating the pool of entries, with the winning design set to be announced on 18th May.
The contest winner will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Heidfeld at the Berlin ePrix and personally hand over the racesuit to the German.
Before the winner is announced, Motorsport.com handpicked some of the best fan designs from the contest.
