Gulf enters tie-up with Aguri Formula E team
Mar 9, 2016, 12:26 PM

The Team Aguri Formula E squad will sport a new livery for this weekend’s Mexico ePrix resulting from a new sponsor deal with Gulf International Oil.

The tie-up comes as a result of an initiative by Gulf Mexican fuel licensee, IF Vertical 2, which means the cars of Antonio Felix da Costa and Salvador Duran will run at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Gulf’s iconic blue-and-orange colours.

Gulf has a long history of success in motorsport, and, through IF Vertical 2’s exciting initiative in Mexico we are delighted to see Gulf make its debut in FIA Formula E with Team Aguri to continue our heritage of racing excellence,” said Gulf vice-president Frank Rutten.

“The move reflects the changing focus of the automotive industry, with manufacturers increasingly focusing on the development of electric and hybrid vehicles. Our involvement in Formula E will put us at the forefront of these developments.”

Team Aguri owner Marc Faggionato added: “To work with a global brand such as Gulf is a real coup for the team, and reinforces our commitment to driving the development of the future automotive technologies that will become commonplace in the road cars of tomorrow.

"We are excited about our partnership and look forward to forging a strong and lasting relationship.”
