The 2015/16 FIA Formula E Championship will come to a close this weekend with a double-header season finale at the Battersea Park track in London, UK. Nelson Piquet Jr, who scooped the drivers’ championship trophy at Battersea Park last season, and Oliver Turvey, who made his Formula E debut on the British track, will be in action for the NextEV TCR Formula E Team.

Nelson Piquet Jr: “The London race obviously holds very special memories for me. It was at Battersea Park that we won the championship last July so it’s going to be great to go back there. The track is quite good, it’s really bumpy and narrow so it’s a challenging one. I enjoyed racing there in the first season so it will be good to see if we can get a decent result to wrap up the season.”

Oliver Turvey: “It is always special to race at home on British soil. It is a challenging circuit as it is narrow, bumpy and has some fast corners and chicanes, so you really have to be committed on the lap. The first corner is tricky as the car touches the ground on the crest as you turn-in, yet it is the fastest corner on the track so one of the most enjoyable and satisfying. This year has been a challenging season, but I hope to be able to score our best result of the season.”

Martin Leach, President, NextEV: “London was where we clinched the Formula E drivers’ championship last season, and we are looking forward to returning to the track where our team and drivers always get fantastic support from the fans. We have continued to work hard to make improvements for each race and hope that we can demonstrate in Battersea another step forward, before turning our focus fully to preparations for next season.”
