London – After a thrilling race in Malaysia, the team reflect on what was both an exhilarating and frustrating day for Amlin Aguri. Preparing the cars for each race in such a short time is incredibly demanding on the team and the intense heat of the Malaysian monsoon adds its own particular challenges.

AFDC had a fantastic drive and despite clipping the wall in qualifiers came in 12th place. He was placed 8th in the race, after a fantastic start mired by a slow pit-stop which lost a few valuable seconds. Katherine Legge was thrilled to win fan boost yet again however after a collision early in the race she was forced to limp home to the pits in order to change cars. She completed the race and was placed 16th.

“This was a difficult and hard race weekend for the team - with the high temperature and all the car preparation work that was required before the race” said Technical Director Peter McCool, "So I am pleased to come away with the points that we got. Antonio drove a great race to 8th place and would have been higher had we not struggled during the pit stop.

Obviously, I am little bit disappointed as I was in front of Di Grassi and Buemi, who finished on the podium...

He showed great pace all weekend and we are happy he will now be with us for the rest of the season. It was always going to be difficult for Katherine after the early race collision with Cerruti, but she showed good determination and managed to get back to the pits and was able to continue the race. I am pleased we moved up the constructors table."

Thrilled with the points, but hungry for a the podium, António Félix da Costa commented: “Obviously, I am little bit disappointed as I was in front of Di Grassi and Buemi, who finished on the podium, before the pit stop when I lost time and positions. We may have been able to get the podium finish so it's disappointing. I hope we will have a better race in Uruguay, I’m looking forward to the race there."

Speaking about the car’s performance and the first-class technical team, Mark Preston, Amlin Aguri’s Team Principle said “Antonio clipped the wall in qualifying and still ended up 12th fastest and felt that there was about 0.7-1.0 seconds he could have gained which would have put him properly in the top 10 so we felt quite confident we understand the car properly now from a performance point of view. That proved that our fastest lap in Beijing wasn't a fluke!”

Amazed by the support the fans showed Katherine Legge said “Unfortunately at the start, our rear end problem sent me sideways and I hit the other car. It wasn't intended and I feel terrible for ruining her race. I switched to the other car and continued, but we were lap down so there wasn't much we could do. The result wasn't good but we got the FanBoost again and I always appreciate our fans."
