Edoardo Piscopo ended his Spanish weekend at Barcelona with a bitter taste in his mouth, but with the strong knowledge of having finally made it to the top of the F.3 Euro Series. Practice and qualifying were positive: Edoardo ended up as the 7th fastest, and was able to take off from 3rd row after the penalty assessed to Yelmer Buurman. Since Race 1 was marred by rain, he then decided to avoid any mistake and preserve his Mucke Motorsport Dallara, ending up in 8th place and grabbing pole spot for Race 2. Unfortunately, Piscopo stalled his car on the grid, while several rivals made contact behind him.
Edoardo Piscopo -- Red Bull Junior Program Driver:
"I feel sorry for the mistake I made at the start of Race 2. I released the clutch one instant before the handbrake that we use to avoid jump starting, instead of doing it at the same time. The car stalled, and I just couldn't do anything to get it going again. I saw all the drivers from the front rows pass through, while Shabaan couldn't avoid the impact; following to the first contact, many other cars were involved... It's a shame, also because I had kept one set of new tires to have the best possible chances for a win. The first race was run on wet conditions, and it was the first time in my career: I tried get to the end with no errors. I'm leaving Barcelona in bitter mood but, despite all the problems, I once again shown my potential in practice and qualifying. Since Zolder, I've always been into the top ten, and at Barcelona I was also faster than my team-mate, who's fighting for the Championship".
