Duval and Di Grassi were both in action this weekend in the Formula 3 Euroseries at Hockenheim.

LOIC DUVAL, Signature Racing

Loic experienced a solid first weekend of the Formula 3 Euroseries at Hockenheim, full of incident in both races. He took sixth place in the first race, but was later handed a thirty-second penalty following a collision with Esteban Guerrieri for which he was judged responsible; the team appealed the decision, which will be heard in the coming weeks. The second race saw Loic make an aggressive drive through the front-runners after a poor start, and he took second position behind team-mate James Rossiter. He currently shares third position in the championship, pending the result of the appeal.

Loic commented:

"It was a pretty good weekend for me, and I'm pleased to come away from Hockenheim with my first podium of the year and third in the championship. The first race was tough, because qualifying was held in drying conditions and I didn't get a clean lap when the track was at its best, so I started twelfth. The car was damaged in the collision with Guerrieri, which was not deliberate -- everybody braked very early and I just went into the back of him. In spite of the damage, though, I managed to finish sixth. The stewards penalised me afterwards, but we have appealed and I hope the decision will go my way, because it was not intentional on my part.

"In race two, I was starting from the front row but the track was still damp on-line after rain in the morning -- where my grid position was! That meant I was slow away, and fifth into the first corner, while my team-mate pulled away from the field. Still, I managed to climb back through the field to second, although James (Rossiter) was too ahead to be caught. It was great for the team to take a one-two, and I've made a solid start to the season."

LUCAS DI GRASSI, Manor Motorsport

The Brazilian saw his world turned upside down in the first race of the weekend, when a collision with Giedo van der Garde on lap 4 sent his Dallara rolling through the gravel trap and into retirement. Lucas emerged unharmed but shaken, and took no further part in the weekend's action.
