MIAMI – (March 17, 2015– Digital media and technology leader Motorsport.com today announced a new marketing partnership with driver Pietro Fittipaldi (www.pietrofittipaldi.com.br), grandson of two-time Formula 1 World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi. Motorsport.com will serve as an associate sponsor for Fittipaldi’s entry in both the 2015 FIA Formula 3 European Championship and Formula Renault 3.5L series.

The agreement joins an already impressive list of Fittipaldi marketing partners including major telecommunications companies Embratel and Claro, each subsidiaries of América Móvil (NYSE: AMX).

Fittipaldi coming off an impressive 2014

Fittipaldi, an 18 year-old Miami-born Brazilian, is coming off a 2014 campaign in which he earned his first Protyre Formula Renault driver’s championship after winning 10 of the season’s 15 races, including eight consecutive victories in his sophomore season in the series.

 The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) recently recognized Fittipaldi for his 2015 BARC Renault championship season where he dominated which included a winning streak of 8 successive wins over a trio of meetings between May and August.

Last October, Fittipaldi completed a three-day special training session at the Ferrari Driver Academy in Maranello, Italy and was recently selected to join the prestigious FIA Institute Academy for a series of rigorous driver workshops as part of the institute’s lauded, fully funded training program.

A path to Formula One

Fittipaldi recently announced his signing with FIA Formula 3 powerhouse Fortec Motorsport - one of the most successful junior single seater teams in the UK.

"Pietro has accomplished so much, so soon in his career and we are deservedly proud of his dedication and passion for racing," said Emerson Fittipaldi. "He was successful as a kart racer, made the transition to NASCAR easily and now enters the challenging world of Formula 4 competition." 

Fittipaldi’s entry into the FIA Formula 3 Series sets the path for him to obtain his Super license – a pre-cursor to joining the F1 fraternity. With 33 races in 10 locations, the championship is televised worldwide and enjoyed by audience on air and online in nearly 200 countries.

“Fortec Motorsports is one of the most respected teams in Formula 3,” Fittipaldi added. “With such great past drivers like Juan Pablo Montoya and Gianmaria Bruni having flown the Fortec colors, I’m really proud to represent such a great team and look forward to the 2015 Formula 3 championship season.”

2015 FIA Formula 3 European Championship season begins April 11th at Silverstone.
