Prema's Felix Rosenqvist headed into the 10th round leading the championship. Maini came in at 19th in the main standings (12th in the rookie list) while Raghunathan sits 39th (18th in rookie).

Friday started with the two practice session where Van Amersfoort Racing's Maini finished 17th and 11th while Motopark's Raghunathan was 31st in both sessions respectively.

Carlin's Callum Ilott topped the first session while Rosenqvist finished as the leader in the second session before qualifying.

Close qualifying

While the championship contenders struggled, Rosenqvist took pole in qualifying one from Carlin's George Russell and Prema's Nick Cassidy.

Maini finished a good 11th, 0.623s off the polesitter, clocking a time of 1m21.749s matching with 10th place Sergio Sette Camara (Motopark). Raghunathan ended 32st among the 33 drivers.

Rosenqvist and Russell continued their fine run in qualifying two finishing 1-2 while Prema's Lance Stroll completed the top three.

Maini, although, again finished within a second off polesitter's time (0.780s) but dropped two places to 13th for race two as Raghunathan improved a place to finish 31st.

For race three, taking the second-best time of qualifying two, meant Maini was 16th while Raghunathan improved a place to 30th.

Rosenqvist made it a clean sweep as Stroll was second and Russell third.
