Stefan Rzadzinski and Olivier Bédard, both top runners in the Micra Cup for the past years, will contest the two F1600 races in Montréal as part of the Britain West stable headed by David Clubine. Guy Gilain, Jason Sharpe and Gord Ross will be the other drivers of the team based in Ontario.
Bédard and Rzadzinski both have solid single seaters’ experience under their belts. Bédard has raced F1600 cars for years, finishing second in the final point standings of the Formula Tour F1600 Series in 2014. Bédard, the 2016 Micra Cup champion, has raced a Formula 1600 car several times on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit.
Rzadzinski has raced F1600 cars in Ontario before he contested the Star Mazda Championship in 2012 and the U.S. F2000 National Championship in 2013. Rzadzinski, from Edmonton, Alberta has also raced in the Indy Lights series. He also put on a stunning performance in the recent Race of Champions in Miami.
Organizers of the STCH Formula Tour 1600 Series expect to have some 30 cars on the grid for the two races held this weekend. Race 1 will be staged on Saturday afternoon and Race 2 will take place Sunday morning, the day of the F1 Grand Prix.
