Toyo Tires F1600 Series announces Road To Indy Shootout entry
The Ontario based Toyo Tires F1600 Championship has been named an official feeder series for the Mazda Road To Indy.
Formula 1600 open-wheel series are is widely recognized as a great training ground for aspiring young drivers to make the step from karting to cars with a career in motorsports in mind.
Toyo Tires F1600 Championship will be awarding its 2018 Champion a ticket to the MRTI USF2000 $200K Scholarship Shootout with a unique chance to climb the ladder up to the famed IndyCar series.
“We are delighted to join the many championships from around the world as an Official Feeder Series to the Mazda Road to Indy Shootout program,” said Brian Graham, member of the Toyo Tires F1600 steering committee.”

The championship kicks off at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for the BEMC Spring Trophy Races, May 11-13 with the first three rounds of the 18-race season.
