Having started the race from pole position, Norris comfortably led by Turn 1 as nearest rival Max Defourny had to focus on keeping AVF's Harrison Scott at bay.

The Belgian did manage to deflect Scott's attacks and kept up with Norris, staying a second behind over the early stages of the race.

Defourny then closed in on Norris at a rapid rate and started to seriously threaten the Brit on Lap 6, trying to go round the outside in the penultimate corner and then again into Turn 1.

However, Norris kept his cool and soon regained his advantage as Defourny ran wide, the Belgian having to settle for second.

Scott took third, holding off Tech 1's Dorian Boccolacci, with Nikita Troitskiy completing the top five for Fortec Motorsports.

Bruno Baptista and Julien Falchero were sixth and seventh, ahead of Alexey Korneev, who pulled off an audacious overtake on Robert Shwartzman.

The latter completed the top 10 alongside compatriot Vasily Romanov.
