BFREN: Aztec International team completes 2002 driver line-up

Rising Formula Renault team Aztec International has announced an all-British driver line-up for its assault on the 2002 title.

Chaz Small (Silverstone), who joined the Faringdon squad for last November's winter championship, will be joined by newcomer, 19-year-old Formula Ford Zetec graduate Robert Scott (Omagh).

Team Manager Mark Williams believes after some promising results last year, which ended with 18-year-old Small finishing in the winter championship's top 10 overall, Aztec can start challenging for podium results in 2002. He also says the team hopes to increase to three cars by the start of the season.

"It is something we would dearly love to do," he commented. "In fact, if I had another four cars I could fill all of them - the telephones have been non-stop with enquiries from drivers wanting to race in Formula Renault!"

He added: "It's great we've kept Chaz on board as the experience he gained towards the end of the last season means we should hit the ground running when testing begins. I predict that Robert, although new to the formula, will quickly establish himself among the front-runners. Not only that but both he and Chaz will help push one other and the team further up the grid."
