New look Formula Renault 2.0
Although the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship is not set to undergo any major changes in 2007, the most popular single-seater in the world is going to get a facelift, with a new body inspired by the Formula Renault 3.5!
A new look for motorsport's bestselling single-seater
First seen on track in 2000, the Formula Renault 2.0 was given a facelift in 2004. 2007 will see the car sport a brand new body which will give it even more aerodynamic performance.
Unchanged racing format
Each meeting will feature a 35-minute qualifying session and two races of 25 minutes plus one lap.
The two best times of each driver will be used to establish the start grid for each race.
250,000 euros of prize money and a World Series 3.5 test for the top three drivers
50,000 euros of prize money will be available over the fourteen races. The winner of the Eurocup will be given a 200,000 Euro grant to finance participation in the 2008 World Series Formula Renault 3.5. The top three drivers in the championship will be given a World Series test at the end of the season.
Seven meetings on the 2007 race calendar
The 2007 World Series by Renault will feature seven meetings in 2007: Germany, Belgium, France, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Spain.
