Kevin Korjus could lift the title

Thanks to a perfect weekend at Hockenheim with two pole positions and two victories, Kevin Korjus (Koiranen Bros Motorsport) will get to Silverstone with a lead of twenty-one points over Arthur Pic (Tech 1 Racing). If the Estonian manages to leave England with thirty-one points more than the Frenchman, it'll be game over and he will walk away with the 2010 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 title. But the Tech 1 Racing clan has not yet had its final say, and Arthur Pic will do everything in his power to prolong the suspense until Barcelona.

17-year-old Kevin Korjus has already proved several times this season that he is virtually unshakeable. But after a tricky weekend in Budapest, with a tally of just six points, the Estonian has shown remarkable ability again, coming back after the summer break to produce a perfect weekend at Hockenheim. With two pole positions and so many wins, the Koiranen Bros Motorsport driver has moved clear at the top of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 overall standings. Having made a stopover at the F1 Grand Prix in Monza with the Renault F1 Team, Kevin Korjus will arrive at Silverstone with his sights set on the title.

Arthur Pic, however, is not going to take it lying down. And he can count on the help of teammate Aaro Vainio (Tech 1 Racing) in catching Kevin Korjus up. The Finn has been right on the pace since the Hungarian Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 meeting. With third place twice in Hungary and second twice in Germany, the young man, turning 17 in October, is planning to go one better and finish first place twice in England!

The ideal situation for Arthur Pic would be for Aaro Vainio to slot in between himself and Kevin Korjus. Nevertheless, Bart Hylkema, Miki Wekström and Jukka Honkauvori from the Koiranen Bros Motorsport outfit look ready to take them on. They have all been on the podium once this season, and it would be ideal for Kevin Korjus if one of them could offer a repeat performance at Silverstone - especially as Tech 1 Racing is on the brink of winning the Teams title right from its very first season at the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. So it's going to be critical for the Koiranen Bros Motorsport drivers to put in a good overall performance, at a moment when each point counts.

On home turf at Silverstone, Luciano Bacheta (Interwetten.com) will be one to look out for. He has already won one race this season in Budapest and is occupying third place in the overall standings; the Brit will do everything to take a win and impress in front of his home crowd.

The Italian Giovanni Venturini (Epsilon Euskadi) has also tasted the sweetness of victory and he is counting on it not being the last time he does so before the end of the season. Teammate Alex Riberas (Epsilon Euskadi) could also join the leading group. On the podium in the Czech Republic, the 16-year-old from Barcelona has to get back on track before the season's grand finale in his homeland.

Genis Olive (Epsilon Euskadi) has been successfully operated on this week after an accident in the second race at Hockenheim in which he sustained an injury to his hand. Having sat out the race at Silverstone, he will do everything in his power to be back in his single-seater in time for the last meeting of the year at his home in Barcelona.
