SG Formula, F.Renault 2.0 team, ready for the off!

French Formula Renault team SG Formula's 2006 season ended with a unique 1-2-3-4 win on the Magny-Cours circuit. The La Rochelle-based squad also took drivers' runner-up spot and teams' title in France, and third place in the Eurocup's final classification.

Former SG Formula drivers are climbing up the motor sport scale. Seven out of a class of eight French drivers on the F3 Euro Series and World Series 3.5 entry lists have raced SG Formula cars in the past. Three of them have been admitted to F1 manufacturers junior drivers programs (Renault Driver Development, Red Bull Junior Team).

It is with vastly strengthened team that SG Formula is preparing to face the challenges of a new season of French Championship and Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 racing. Solid financial backing, new much larger and functional premises and six new drivers who will benefit from support and personal development facilities hitherto unknown at this level of competition.

Admitted to the Renault Driver Development programme for the 2007 season.

Alexandre Marsoin (Eurocup & French Championship)
French, born March 25th 1989.
Karting: 2004 Formula Kart French Champion
Single-seaters: 12th French Formula Renault Championship in 2006 (1 podium finish, 3rd Rookie championship).

Charles Pic (Eurocup & French Championship)
French, born February 15th, 1990.
Karting: 3rd European Junior Championship in 2005
Single-seaters: 3rd French Formula Campus Championship in 2006 (2 pole positions, 2 race wins).

Great-uncle Lucien Bianchi mounted the podium of the Monaco F1 Grand Prix and won Le Mans 24 Hours in 1968. Grandfather Mauro, engineer and driver, also had some outstanding successes, including Macau GP in 66.
