EU Megane: Equipe Verschuur Spa preview

BAS SCHOTHORST AND MCGREGOR BY EQUIPE VERSCHUUR READY TO START THE SEASON AT SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS

DRIEBERGEN-RIJSENBURG, APRIL 27 2010 - Equipe Verschuur, the 2009 championship winning team lead by Frans Verschuur, is ready to kick off its 2010 Eurocup Megane Trophy campaign at Spa-Francorchamps. This weekend will see the series' first out of seven double header rounds take place at the famous Belgian Grand Prix circuit. The squad's lead driver Bas Schothorst aims to start his debut season on a high. Next to targeting race wins, the 30-year old Dutchman also strives to fight for championship success.

Equipe Verschuur will enter the 2010 season with 7 cars. With Bas Schothorst, the renowned team owner has recruited the services of a possible successor for his son Mike Verschuur, who won the title last year. Experienced team drivers Hoevert Vos and Wim Beelen will most likely be strong contenders for the Gentlemen Cup. The location of this weekend's season opener is known property to all team drivers. After the first meeting at Spa-Francorchamps, the World Series by Renault events will also visit the circuits of Brno, Magny-Cours, Hungaroring, Hockenheim, Silverstone and Barcelona later this year.
