Jani on pole
Neel Jani took an impressive pole position today on the prestigious Monaco race track after his dominant free practice of last Thursday. Memo ROJAS made a big step ahead and set the 9th time (18th in free practice) with a yellow flag during his best lap. Bruce Lorgere-Roux who was one of the quickest drivers in the beginning of the session lost control of his car 18 minutes from the end of the session and crashed badly at the Casino corner. He received medical attention without any injury detected.
Neel Jani : "I had troubles with the traffic during all the session. I am quite happy with this time because I did not have any clear lap when I was pushing. I hope this is the end of all this bad luck we had since the beginning of the season. I really feel good with the car, we have done well today but the biggest step is tomorrow. Except our rain tyre problems we have always been fast in qualifying and this result is finally quite logical."
Memo Rojas : "The car was better than the 1^st practice. The braking is still a problem even if we have progressed on that point. Also I had difficulties to manage the traffic which made me lose many good opportunities. In my quickest lap I had to slow down at la Rascasse due to a crash of another car and yellow flags. We were definitely quick today, and as soon as we will fix the braking most of the problems will be behind us."
Bruce Lorgere-Roux : "I crashed quite hard and at the moment I do not know if I will be able to drive tomorrow as the pain is quite strong. The doctors did not find any injury but I will decide later what I will do."
