The Racing Dentist takes Trident to the Track in Toronto
Toronto, Ontario, July 8th . -- Chris Souliotis, a dentist from British Columbia, will be racing this weekend at the Molson Indy in Toronto and promoting at the same time the only chewing gum Canadian dentists recommand, Trident. Although he has been racing for about ten years, Doctor Souliotis will race for the first time an open wheel car, an F-2000 single seater entered in the North American Formula Renault Championship with Gelles Racing. For the duration of the weekend, Doctor Souliotis' crew will be handing out gum to all visitors at the Gelles paddock.
"To me, racing and dental care are equally important, says the Vancouver Island resident. My attitude is the same whether I'm steering a race car or having a patient in my office. I focus on being the best driver on the track and the best doctor for my patient. And when it comes to kids, I recommand the only gum that will not harm, their teeth, Trident."
Twice a Canadian GT champion
The last two years have been most rewarding for Chris Souliotis in his racing career: twice has the racing dentist earn the GT championship of Canada, driving a Porsche. " I have raced fast sedans for many years, continues Souliotis, but this is the first time I will be in an open-wheel car. The Formula Renault is an outstanding package and Gelles was the team I wanted to race with. Toronto will be sort of a shakedown since it is a street circuit. I look forward to the Vancouver race in two weeks: I have raced there and I'm pretty familiar with the track."
Trident: the recommanded gum
Trident Sugarless Gum, the #1 Dentist Recommended Gum, will sponsor the racing dentist for both the Toronto and Vancouver Indy races. Doctor Souliotis will drive the number 5 Formula Renault race car for Gelles Racing and will proudly bear the logo of Trident Sugarless Gum. The Souliotis crew will hand out samples to racefans that visit the team.
"Trident Sugarless gum is a useful part of a dental hygiene program for adults and children" states Trident Brand Manager Casey Howe. "Bringing that message to a big crowd at the Toronto Indy, with a racing dentist, is a remarkable opportunity."
Dr. Souliotis will be available during the Toronto Indy for photos, interviews and any dental work you might require!
Formula Renault and Doctor Souliotis will have a practice session on Friday morning, a qualifying session on Saturday and will race on Sunday afternoon at 3h30 pm (EST), July 11. The 2004 North America Formula Renault Pro series is sanctioned by Grand American Road Racing and organized by Race Team Promotions. Gelles Racing is sponsored by Mid-America Motorworks and USA Today. You can visit Gelles web site at: www.gellesracing.com
