RACING RESUMES FOR RENAULTS

The 2008 Formula Renault UK Championship returns to the track this weekend for the next chapter at Snetterton in Norfolk. The drivers have all had a long summer break but they will be right back in at the deep end this weekend as they have three races to compete in. Round ten, postponed during the wet weekend at Croft, will take place on Saturday at Snetterton, in addition to the usual double-header on Sunday.

Adam Christodoulou will be out to continue his dominant run in the series and will be working hard to maintain and extend his Championship lead. Scott Jenkins and Ryuji Yamamoto will continue to push hard to make it to the podium and Jesse Krohn, a welcome new addition to the team, will be out to show what he is made of.

CRS Team Director, Andrew Kirkaldy:

"Snetterton has always been a good circuit for us but also one of the hardest. All the teams do a lot of testing at the circuit so it is always very close. The test last week went very well with all four drivers showing well over the two days. For Adam we must now make sure we get consistent finishes and try to be on the podium every time. For Ryuji, Scott and Jesse they must try to get the first win for themselves and I believe any of the four could win if they do the right job over the weekend."

Adam Christodoulou (currently 1st in Championship standings):

"Snetterton for me has always been an awesome track. Last year I had two fantastic races there, managing to get a podium finish, just missing out on the top spot. Whilst testing there last week we showed good potential for the coming races. I was fastest the majority of the second day, and I know there is a little extra in the bag because we didn't use new tyres. I'm looking forward to this weekend because it's unusual to have three races. Everything has to be spot on because there will be no time for mistakes and the team and the drivers are going to be flat out all weekend, making sure everything's going in the right direction. I know for the first race on the Saturday I'm starting in fourth position because that's where I qualified at Croft before it got rained off. I know I have the pace and I also know it is possible to overtake at Snetterton so I'm looking for a strong podium finish on the Saturday. I'm hoping to have another strong qualifying and get a good bunch of points to go towards my championship. Even though I have a 44 point lead in the championship standings this isn't the time to relax; I have to push all the way to the end of the season."

Ryuji Yamamoto (currently 10th in Championship standings):

"During last week's test at Snetterton I recorded the second fastest time. I haven't had the results I wanted in the last few races but I think I have recovered my speed now. My target for Snetterton is to get back up on the podium; my results were okay there last year and I enjoy racing there. The best overtaking spot is the final corner, the chicane, after the long uphill straight. I will set up the car and adjust my driving style to make sure I am fast through there."

Scott Jenkins (currently 11th in Championship standings):

"I really enjoyed the test recently at Snetterton and made good progress with my set up. I had some great sectors, but just couldn't piece one great lap together. Saying that I think I will go well during the races. We've got three races this weekend and I'm hoping to make an impact and start to catch Dean (Stoneman) in the Graduate Cup, though it will be tough given his very quick test times. I need three top six finishes this weekend and the team and I will work really hard, starting on Friday morning, to achieve this."

Jesse Krohn:

"I think the test at Snetterton last week went very well and I learned a lot about the team and working with my new engineer. I'm really looking forward to the weekend now; the test gave me lots of confidence because I got to see how the team works and how things are done at CRS. They did a brilliant job, so thanks to them. I have raced at Snetterton before in Formula Ford. I really like the first corner as it is really fast; the hardest part is probably the last corner as it takes a few laps to get it right. My goal for this weekend is to get into the top five and I can't wait to get started."

Formula Renault qualifying takes place at Snetterton on Saturday at 1045 and 1515hrs; the three races get underway on Saturday at 1740hrs and on Sunday at 0940 and 1535 hrs.
