The Virtual Le Mans Series Cup kicked off this week as the support category for the main Virtual Le Mans Series.

The grid is made up of competitors who have entered via a time trial within rFactor2’s Competition System. That means it’s open to anyone with the sim racing platform. The top 30 entrants, aka the ‘top split’, then took part in a live race, broadcast after the Le Mans Virtual Series qualifying.

The first race, at Monza, featured a grid of LMP3 Norma M30s.

Luca D’Amelio took the first-ever victory in this series, which will run for four rounds, with the overall top two qualifying for the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual.
