Reddy crowned Motorsport Person of the Year by FMSCI

Anindith Reddy was named the ‘Motorsport Person of the Year’ at the annual FMSCI gala in Chennai on Sunday.

Reddy was chosen for the topmost honour by country’s motorsport body for winning both the MRF F1600 and JK Tyre’s Euro JK championship - India’s two premier single-seater series - in a single year.

The Hyderabad-based driver was presented with the award, as well as a Rs 2 lakh cheque, by FMSCI President Akbar Ebrahim and MS Ramesh, a High Court Justice and the Chief Guest of the event.

"I would like to thank the FMSCI for honouring me with this award, as also for creating various platforms for young motorsports enthusiasts in the country to sharpen their skills," he said.

Among other honours, former FMSCI chairman and K1000 rally winner KD Madan was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Indian motorsports.

FMSCI also presented the Outstanding Achievement in World Motorsport award to every single driver and rider who competed internationally during the last year.

APRC champion Gaurav Gill, GP3 race winner Arjun Maini, European F3 race winner Jehan Daruvala, Blancpain GT Asia series runner-up Aditya Patel, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia racer Armaan Ebrahim, Italian F4 podium finisher Kush Maini and Nayan Chatterjee were among several recipients of the award.

Meanwhile, TVS Racing Aishwarya Pissay, Euro JK racer Mira Erda, Rhyana Bee A and Kalyani V Potekar were all conferred with the Outstanding Women in Motorsport award.

All national motorsport champions were also awarded during the gala night.
