Tim Shaw back to best for provisional pole
Making a belated return to the Future Tourer category after a year off, Victorian Tim Shaw has set provisional pole for tomorrow's opening round of the Future Tourer series. In setting the time of 45.8662 seconds in his Holden Commodore VS, he was under his own lap record set two years ago.
The man who dominated Future Tourers in its return last year, Ray Sidebottom driving a Holden Commodore VX, was second fastest, just one tenth slower of a second slower. A similar margin away was the Mitsubishi Magna, complete with V8 engine and rear wheel drive, of Terry Bosnjak.
Fourth fastest was the Commodore VS of Bruce Williams ahead of the similar Holden of Mark Papendell and Shanan Sidebottom in another Commodore VX.
The best of the Fords were seventh and eighth with Kerry Wade's Falcon EL just ahead of Leanne Ross' AU. Rounding out the top ten were Mark Telfer (Commodore VS) and Andrew Gillespie in a Ford Falcon EL.
