1995 AUSTRALIAN TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
Sandown stays and Mt Panorama replaces Amaroo, these are the highlights of the provisional calender for the 1995 Shell Australian Touring Car Championships.
The Sandown track was in danger of losing it's round of the series due to problems with tobacco sponorship. These problems have now been solved and the suburban Melbourne circuit will kick off the Shell Australian Touring Car Championships on Febuary 5th.
Mt Panorama, the site of the October Bathurst 1000 has not held a round of the title for over two decades and replaces the tight and twisty Amaroo circuit as New South Wale's third round.
Meanwhile Calder Park Raceway will host its first CAMS title race since the split over NASCAR and AUSCAR on Saturday, May 13,with a night race for the Australian Manufacturers Championship for the BTCC style 2 litre cars.
The 2 litres struggled to gain a following in their first year, however with several new teams entering including a works supported Volvo team organizers are looking forward to a better 2nd season.
