Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières -- Victory is the Goal for Mathieu and Rémy Audette !

Blainville (Québec), August 9, 2010.- The Audette Racing team will take part in two categories at this weekend's Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, consisting of Mathieu Audette in the Canadian Touring Car Championship and Rémy Audette in the Formula Tour 1600 series. For these two Quebec drivers, one word describes their respective goals for the weekend: victory !

After experiencing an excellent start to the Canadian Touring Car Championship season, Mathieu Audette lost the chance for points in the hunt for the driver's title following mechanical problems at the Grand Prix de Mirabel and especially in Toronto last month. " I have to be realistic, our bad luck in Toronto cost us valuable championship points. But the positive thing to take from this is that all of mechanical problems are sorted out and from now own, we not trying to just strive for points, our only goal is to win !" he explains.

Trois-Rivières is a course that has been good to Mathieu Audette, past winner at this track in open wheel (Formula Tour 1600 series) and in Touring Car (Hankook Touringseries). " I'm convinced that our Dimensions Doors Acura RSX will be very competitive at Trois-Rivières. For me, there's no doubt that barring any racing accidents, we'll be there to battle for the victory in both double-header rounds during the 41st edition of the GP de Trois-Rivières " adds Mathieu Audette.

As of this event, the Canadian Touring Car Championship regulations require all teams using Honda or Acura models to increase the weight of their vehicles in order to equalize the competition between them and other manufacturers. The Audette Racing driver remains unworried: " frankly, I don't believe that this will make even the slightest difference for us because it brings us back to almost exactly the same weight as the beginning of the 2009 season. Having said that, I think it's a good series decision because it will bring the performance of all of the cars even closer together and it's excellent for the show " he adds.

This season, the Audette Racing Team is entering Mathieu Audette in the Canadian Touring Car Championship and his brother Rémy Audette in a partial open wheel program consisting of Formula Tour 1600 and the American Formula 2000 series. While Mathieu Audette will be in action in Trois Rivières for both Touring Car races, Rémy will once again find himself competing in the two Formula Tour 1600 races at the wheel of a Van Diemen open-wheel car, prepared by Ontarian David Clubine's Britain West Motorsports.

" I'm looking forward to being with the gang from the Formula Tour 1600 " comments Rémy, 2007 champion, three years after his brother Mathieu was crowned the very first series champion in 2004. Rémy Audette adds: " I hope to be able to battle for the victory. In Mirabel in July, we had problems but here, I am confident that we have this machine's competitiveness back " explains Rémy. " For me, Trois-Rivières is an event just as important as Montréal because we have a lot of supporters, sponsors, and friends in the grandstands. I have not yet won at Trois-Rivières, this year would be my first!" concludes the Quebec driver.

This season, the team benefits from the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Acura Plus Blainville, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, Mec-Inov and Omnitech.

The Canadian Touring Car Championship takes place over seven racing weekends (always double-headers). Four of these take place in Ontario and three in Quebec, including twice at the ICAR Complex in Mirabel, and once at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières.

The two rounds of the Canadian Touring Car Championship on the roster at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières be held on Saturday at 4:40pm and Sunday morning at 9:45. Formula Tour 1600 will run its two races on Saturday at 1:50pm and Sunday at 10:40.
