The Racing Season Begins January 21-23, 2011 at Toronto's International Centre

(TORONTO, ON // December 15, 2010) During the first four years of its existence, the Canadian Motorsports Expo featured racing vehicles from across the spectrum of Canadian racing. But if there was one void, it was the underrepresentation of the drag racing community. That gap will be filled for the 5th Annual CME, which takes place January 21-23, 2011 at Toronto's International Centre.

Thanks to Bruce Biegler of DragRaceCanada and some of his high-powered friends, the Canadian Motorsports Expo will feature several incredible drag cars. Biegler -- who is also the Drag Racing Editor for Inside Track Motorsport News -- is a highly respected member of the drag racing community, and when he put out the call to support Canada's Ultimate Racing Show, they responded.

Confirmed for the show, so far, are:

* Canada's only NHRA legal Pro Stocker, driven by Mark Martino of Stoney Creek, Ontario. The car is a 2010 Pontiac GXP with a 500 cubic inch displacement (CID) powerplant.

* Jeff Roth's '41 Willys Replica PMRA Pro Modified car. Based out of Kitchener, Ontario, this car features a 526 CID motor.

* Gus Mantas' stunning blue '68 Barracuda NHRA Super Stock (SS/AH) drag car, powered by a 426 CID Hemi. Mantas hails from Toronto, Ontario.

Speaking about the drag racing content that will be on display January 21-23 at the Canadian Motorsports Expo, Bruce Biegler Editor/Owner of DragRaceCanada.com said, "DragRaceCanada is very pleased and honoured to co-present the 'Quarter-Mile Corral' at the 5th Annual CME. The Corral will showcase Canadian drag racing at an important motorsports venue, at a time when Canadian drag racers continue to push the performance envelope. We'll have a number of top-rated cars on display that are a perfect example of that."

Canadian Motorsports Expo co-promoter David Weber is extremely pleased to welcome Biegler, DragRaceCanada and the confirmed racers and cars to the show. "Having these machines on display in Canada's corporate centre, and in front of a varied crowd of racers and industry members, is something we're really looking forward to at the 5th Annual Canadian Motorsports Expo. Our lack of drag racing content was a significant void and we can't thank Bruce Biegler, DragRaceCanada and the confirmed racers enough for stepping up to support the show."

ABOUT THE CME: The Canadian Motorsports Expo is a three-day celebration of Canadian racing that runs January 21, 22 and 23, 2011 at the International Centre (6900 Airport Road in Mississauga). The show is powered by Inside Track Motorsport News. In addition to booths and racing vehicles representing the entire spectrum of Canadian motorsports, the show is loaded with seminars and forums to entertain and inform racers and fans alike. Star drivers -- including reigning IndyCar Series Champion and Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti -- will be at the CME to sign autographs and meet the fans. One of the special themes of this year's CME is the Karting Reunion. Please check the show's website for updates and changes.
