Changan Ford Racing Team Returns SIC Aiming for another win
Thanks to excellent results in the CTCC Tian Ma race, Changan Ford Racing team welcomed 16 points to its standings and is now leading the 2000cc team points table. CTCC will travel back to Shanghai International Circuit (SIC) for its third race on July 25th & 26th, with Changan Ford Racing team aiming for another win.
The team is currently running some mechanical tests on the cars and drivers will arrive at the circuit Wednesday to begin road testing the vehicles. After drivers experienced high temperatures and extremely tough physical demands during the last race, the team responded efficiently by placing bigger air tubes in the cars and increasing driver water intake during the race. Tian Ma circuit has many chicanes and requires constant shifting, which makes it very demanding on drivers' physical strength. The SIC configuration that CTCC will use will be same as the last SIC race: a 2.46 KM circuit configuration with a 700+ meter long front straight, which will give enough time for the drivers to adjust during the race. Car No.15 and car No.11 are going to take an additional 40kg and 20kg of ballast weight respectively, but this will not have much effect on the cars' performance.
Andy Yan, the dark horse of last race with a remarkable performance and good team work spirit, brought the team its first winner trophy of the season and also lead the race. Rainey He, lead driver for the team, gained 6 points for the team in the last race with his steady driving style. Martin Cao, the youngest driver in CTCC with almost perfect cornering speed and good driving skill, has been the focus of the championship since day one. Cao's stability has improved a lot since race one and the team is expecting good results from him. Tengyi Jiang is now becoming a good touring car driver race by race. Jiang's improvement is noticeable and the team has high expectations for him.
