Jan Magnussen wins Renault Clio guest drive
Despite being involved in a tight fight for the Danish Touring Car Championship, Danish driver Jan Magnussen could not turn down the offer to race in the Renault Clio celebrity car at Padborg Park.
Despite having no experience with the car in the onemake series Jan Magnussen took Pole Position and won race one setting a new track record for Renault Clio at Padborg Park.
In race two Magnussen again had Pole Position but the rain had started to fall and in-experience with the car in the rain caught Magnussen out as the team had put the brakebalance to much to the front. He missed the corner after the straight and went to the back of the field. From here Magnussen enjoyed himself closing on the leaders and overtaking 14 cars in 9 laps finishing in 8th place.
"I went out to have fun and that was what I had. Especially in race two where I overtook cars everywhere on the track" Jan Magnussen said after the race.
The win was Jan Magnussen 9th win this season with victories at Le Mans, Grand-Am, DTC and the Clio Cup.
