SEAT Sport drivers move up a place at Imola
All three SEAT Sport drivers have gained a place in the revised results for Race 2 at Imola this afternoon following a decision to impose a drive through penalty on the Alfa Romeo driver Augusto Farfus Jnr. Since the penalty was imposed after the race, the Brazilian driver receives a 30 second time penalty, dropping him from third place to eleventh.
The penalty was applied following an incident that occurred at the end of the safety car period. According to the Stewards' Decision, the reason for the penalty was "Not complying with safety car rules as described in art. 143 of the 2004 ETCC Sporting Regulations and art. 5 chapter 2 app. H par. J (the distance with the precedent car on the line was clearly more than 5 car lengths)."
This means Jordi Gene has been elevated to fourth place, Rickard Rydell to fifth and Frank Diefenbacher to eighth. In the Drivers' Championship, Jordi is now just two points behind Farfus with four more races remaining.
