JAS Motorport's Customers test the Honda Accord ETCC

As announced, JAS Motorsport have invited faithful customers and potential new drivers for the future to test the Honda Accord Euro R which has competed with Alessandro Balzan in the European Touring Cars Championship 2004.

The test took place on November,4 at the Adria International Raceway, during a beatiful sunny and warm day (22 C), where all drivers had the opportunity to test the car for about 45 minutes.

Nicola Larini also joined the meeting and kindly accepted to shake down the car and set a control time for the guests, who were over enthusiasts of the performance of the car and pleased by the organisation of the event.

"I am really impressed" , said Hans Petersen, who will be competing in the Danish Championship 2005 with the Accord, "I have never driven this kind of cars and I obviously need some training, but it is really easy to drive and very challenging. I am very satisfied to have purchased the car and look forward for the next racing season".

Aivis Ohtla, former Baltic Champion and future owner of a brand new Accord: "I didn't really expect such high grip in comparison to my Super Production, but in spite of this it is quite friendly to drive. I was not sufficiently comfortable in the car: I am very tall (1.90 mt) and I had to compromise the driving position with the other drivers. However my new car will be customised for my size, I was at JAS before coming here to confirm the seat and steering wheel position"

Janel Nuorminien, finnish Champion of the Honda Civic Challenge 2004: "It took me a bit of time to get used to the sequential gearbox, that's quite unusual to me, but then I was immediately comfortable to push and reach the limit of the car in just a few laps. The car goes where you want it to go, so that you can focus on the driving lines and get the maximum out of it. It was a fantastic experience and opportunity that I have been given thanks to the results achieved in the Finnish Cup"

"I took it very easy, there was really no need to push" Jens Edman, experienced and professional touring car driver from Sweden said "I just wanted to appreciate the goodness of engine and gearbox, which are key factors of success in a modern Super 2000 car. And they are really good, the best of the Super 2000 cars that I have driven"

The test has been organised by JAS Motorsport within the spirit of the Customer Service, and more and more in the future the opportunity to test the race cars prior to the purchase will be given to the customers.

(Lap times will not be disclosed: these are not significant due to the different circumstances (temperatures, tyres conditions,...) that the different drivers have encountered. n.d.r.)

The next test will take place in Hockenheim, on November,11: Martin Jensen from Denmark, the young italian Diego Romanini and Nicola Larini, who will be also testing new technical solutions on the car, will attend.
