Dirk MÜLLER -- BMW Team Deutschland, 1st in Race 1 and 6th in Race 2
"I'm feeling really good. It's my first win this season, after two really
tough races. I had a clear, fair fight with Jorg. I think that's just how
team-mates should work together. To be honest, luck was a bit on my side
today. There was some oil on the track, and it was quite slippery. And Jorg
was in front, so he was drove onto it before I did. I came closer and
closer, and eventually used the opportunity to slip past. I enjoyed the
second race as well, I think I overtook 13 or 14 cars, and that was really
enjoyable."
Andy PRIAULX -- BMW Team Great Britain, 8th in Race 1 and 1st in Race 2
"I'm rather disappointed with the first race. What happened there, my
collision with Diefenbacher, was really not necessary. I'll have to watch it
again on video. But well, that happens, it's just one of those things-- But
I'm pleased with the overall performance, even though it didn't quite come
together in the end, neither in qualifying nor in the races. When it comes
down to it, I suppose scoring eleven points this weekend is not too bad."
Jorg MÜLLER -- BMW Team Deutschland, 2nd in Race 1 and 4th in Race 2
"The starter switched the lights off really quick. When I looked into the
rear mirror after the first corner, I could only see Dirk behind me, but
none of the others, so I suppose they were sleeping a bit. It was good for
us, though! Later, it was really difficult with all the oil on the track,
especially since I couldn't see where exactly it was. Dirk came out as the
winner in the end, but we were really about equally fast and I might as well
have won the first race."
Augusto FARFUS -- AutoDelta Squadra Corse, 3rd in Race 1 and 3rd in Race 2
"I'm happy to be on the podium again. At this point, we can gradually start
working towards the championship! We started the weekend with lots of
problems, but the car was not bad in the race and I'm quite happy. The
championship is still long, and we will certainly put up a fight."
Gabriele TARQUINI -- AutoDelta Squadra Corse, 5th in Race 1 and 2nd in Race 2
"It was a really tough race weekend for me. We were very slow in qualifying.
We changed almost everything with the set-up this morning, and the car
hasn't been too bad in the races. But those who have followed the ETCC for a
while know how it is: some tracks are good for BMW, some tracks are good for
us. In Valencia, we could have won even with 40 kilos ballast, but not here
on this circuit!"
Michele BARTYAN -- Oregon Team, 9th in Race 1 and 12th in Race 2
"I'm really happy for the team. They worked hard to come here with a
competitive car. I was rather close to the Alfas during the qualifying,
which was fantastic. I'm just disappointed because one of the BMW cars
blocked me a bit at one point and I lost some time behind it."
Tom CORONEL -- Carly Motors, DNF in Race 1 and 8th in Race 2 @"I had a massive start! It was really really good and after that I was running fifth. It was really challenging. Then Giovanardi overbraked and touched me lightly, but that was just a minor thing and we didn't have any problems with the car. Unfortunately, the driveshaft broke later on, and that was it. The second race was quite challenging, and I managed to win the privateer's trophy despite starting from the back. So, all in all, I think we did a rather good job here as a privateer."
Jan MAGNUSSEN -- Peugeot Sport Engineering, 19th in Race 1 and 18th in Race 2
"In the second race, two of the Oregon Alfas were fighting in turn one, and
one of them went wide into the gravel. And when he came back, there was a
big cloud of dust so you couldn't see anything. His teammate was going
through that, and I hit him. It seemed like the car was okay, but seven laps
later the upright collapsed. We were very competitive though, in both the
races. I was in 12th position when I retired, close to the points then. We
are happy with the race speed. We need to find some qualifying speed, but
the new car should solve some of those problems."
Kurt MOLLEKENS -- BMW Team Belgium-Luxembourg, 11th in Race 1 and 7th in Race
2
"I should have broken into the points in the first race already! That was
rather disappointing, but it was my mistake. I apologize to Bartyan, because
I was over-optimistic. I knew it was for eighth place, which would have
given me pole position for the next race. We had three or four laps to go
and I saw a chance, so I came out of the slipstream, but the car started
sliding at the rear and ended up touching him. It was my biggest mistake of
the day, actually. I think apart from that, in the second race I kept it
clean and I drove a steady race, not quite on the pace, but closer to it
than in qualifying. Each lap I learn something more and go a bit quicker."
Jaime PUIG, SEAT Sport Motorsport Director
"It's a real shame, because the whole weekend up to the races was so good
for us; we showed that we are clearly much closer to the others. The next
step for us is very simple, we must finish the races! Once we get back to
Barcelona, we'll strip and check everything to find out exactly what
happened, but with only two weeks until Hockenheim and then another two
weeks before Brno, we don't have a great deal of time on our hands."
