GLYNN GEDDIE TAKES ON MARTINI TROPHY

Glynn Geddie is set to compete in the Martini Trophy at Snetterton, Norfolk, this weekend, once again pairing up with his father Jim in the Team Apex Tubulars Porsche 996 GT3 Cup car.

The meeting will be run by the AMOC (Aston Martin Owners Club) but event organisers have opted to allow entries for the race, which is regulated to Sports and GT cars built after 1970, from other significant marques such as Porsche and Ferrari.

Geddie Sr. and Jr. were last out in force at the Britcar Euro Race at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, two weekends ago. After a dominating qualifying performance which saw them snatch class pole, the engine gave way and blew up, forcing the duo to miss the race, but Geddie Jr. is hoping the story for this weekend will have a different ending.

"I'm kind of hoping our fortunes will change around after the last time out at Spa!", joked Geddie Jr. "If we can match the pace we had there in qualifying and keep the momentum through to the chequered flag, we should be on for a strong finish. However, it's going to be hard to say how we're going to compare to the others as we're not too sure who we're up against in class yet.

"The following weekend I'll be out again at Snetterton in the Porsche Carrera Cup so this race should provide me with a good opportunity to get well-acquainted with the track."

Qualifying is scheduled to commence at 9.50 on Saturday morning, running for 45 minutes, with the 3-hour race taking place later that day, with a rolling start, at 14.45.
