Fort Worth-Dallas (March 27, 2000) * More than 100 volunteers from area churches will once again be on hand to assist fans at Texas Motor Speedway through the Texas Alliance Raceway Ministries (TxARM). TxARM, an evangelistic ministry group formed by members of Denton, Tarrant, and Wise Baptist Associations, will provide a number of services to make the raceweek experience as memorable and positive as possible for all motorsports fans.

TxARM will have their on site headquarters set up in a large tent near the campgrounds behind the speedway backstretch. Volunteers will man the tent 24 hours a day beginning March 30. Fans can go to TxARM for information concerning activities and services on and off the track as well as Christian literature. TxARM will provide complimentary van rides from remote parking areas to the Lone Star Circle tram pickup points, as well as rides from the campground area to shower facilities. Handicapped transportation will also be provided from the handicapped parking area to the speedway gates.

"Our goal is to provide Christian hospitality to help Texas Motor Speedway provide the fans with the best race week experience," said Dr. Roger Marsh, TxARM Chairman of the Executive Council. "We also see it as an opportunity to spread the love of God because people are much more open to God¢s love if you give it with a helping hand." Not only does TxARM help the fans of Texas Motor Speedway, but they also help speedway employees. "Just in 1999, we distributed 2,300 bottles of water and 400-500 cups of coffee to Texas Motor Speedway employees," said Marsh.

"TxARM¢s commitment to race fans and raceway employees is evident every time that they participate in race week events," said speedway general manager Eddie- Gossage. "We appreciate the services that TxARM provides for our fans and employees." On April 2, TxARM will hold an 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship service in the campground area that will include music, conversation, and worship. All race fans are invited to attend.

TxARM also has a host of activities planned for race fans throughout the weekend. On Friday and Saturday evening beginning at 6:00, a live concert will be held at the TxARM tent featuring Colleen Beasley, a 50¢s singer from Alabama, and the country Christian band, Southern Accent led by Bob Curtis. "Both bands should be a great time and a good source of entertainment," said Marsh. On Saturday at 9:00 a.m., TxARM will host a children¢s carnival complete with various carnival games and balloon animals. A puppet show performance will also take place. On Saturday afternoon at 3:00, all race fans are invited to participate in a horseshoe tournament. Four winners of the tournament will be presented trophies made of genuine horseshoes at the Sunday morning worship service.

"TxARM¢s services and activities help make the experience at Texas Motor Speedway more pleasurable," said Gossage. "It¢s just another way of making Texas Motor Speedway the most ¡fan friendly¢ speedway."
