NISSAN TOPS ALL-TIME TOURING CAR STATISTICS

Nissan (with 40 victories) is the most successful manufacturer in touring car racing since the formula was introduced in South Africa in 1993. BMW is next best with 38 wins followed by Opel (35) and Audi (19).

Nissan's reigning champion Giniel de Villiers heads the all-time winner's list with 30 victories, followed by BMW's former champions Michael Briggs (28) and Shaun van der Linde (22), Opel's Deon Joubert (15), Audi's Chris Aberdein (10) and Audi's former champion Terry Moss (7).

While De Villiers has scored all his successes with Nissan, Briggs has won 27 times with Opel and once with BMW. Joubert scored 14 of his victories with BMW and one with Opel.

Briggs was the first touring car champion (in 1993) and again in 1995, Van der Linde won in 1994, Moss in 1996 and De Villiers in 1997 and 1998.

Briggs has the most top three finishes (65), followed by Van der Linde (54), De Villiers (46), Joubert (44), former Opel driver Grant McCleery (35) and Moss (27).

King of the pole positions is De Villiers (25), followed by Briggs (19), Van der Linde (14), Aberdein (13), Joubert (9) and Nissan's Duncan Vos (6).
