June 2 - Steve Kinser, World of Outlaw champion, born (1955).
- Bruce McLaren killed at Goodwood, England, while testing McLaren M8D Can-Am racer (1970).
June 3 - Manfred von Brauchitsh scores the Mercedes-Benz Type W25 debut victory by winning the Eifelrennen at the Nurburgring (1934).
June 4 - Lotus 49 with Cosworth-Ford DFV V8 engine debuts at the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvort. Graham Hill starts his from pole and Jim Clark drives his to victory (1967).
June 5 - Jo Bonnier and Phil Hill win the ADAC 1000 Kilometer race at the Nurburgring driving a Chaparral 2D (1966).
June 6 - Louis Chevrolet dies (1941).
June 7 - Arthur Duray drives a De Dietrich to victory in the Moscow to St. Petersburg race. He covered the 422 miles (680 km) in 9 hours and 22 minutes. The race started at 2:00 am under the midnight sun (1907).
