Trois-Rivieres qualifying

Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, July 28, 2000 -- In line with their long-time tradition of helping talented Canadian drivers, Team Player’s has organised an important driving clinic to be held next week. Veteran race car driver, former driving instructor and Technical Director for Team Player’s, Richard Spenard, will give the drivers of the Canadian Formula Ford Championship some major help next week as the series traves to Mosport International Raceway, Ontario.

Spenard, a driver who raced successfully for more than two decades and who is still competing in the Motorola Cup Presented by NewTech, will walk the grueling Mosport road course on Thursday August 3 with the Formula Ford drivers in tow. Spenard, who knows the track extremely well, will give them pointers and tips that should prove to be very useful.

«King Richard» - who is extremely talented at teaching the art of driving a race car to the limits ? will help the competitors of the Formula Ford Championship to shave off a few tenths of a second off their lap times and be more competitive on this very difficult race track. Spenard is also well known for his active coaching of Player’s CART Fedex Championship Series drivers Patrick Carpentier and Alexandre Tagliani.

"I’m delighted to help our future stars," said Spenard. "Coaching plays a major role in racing. I think the Formula Ford drivers might learn a few helpful tricks for a tough track like Mosport."

The sixth round of the Canadian Formula Ford Championship will be held on August 5 and 6 as part of the American Le Mans Series weekend at Mosport.
