Mills ready for Clio Cup debut

Surrey based youngster Jason Mills is set to make his ELF Renault Clio Cup UK debut at Brands Hatch on 9/10 October after securing a deal to race with front runners JHR Developments.

Having joined forces with manager and driver coach Matt Kelly they have been working hard to put together the ideal package to showcase the 20-year-old driver's talent.

Talking about the deal Jason said: "2010 has been a tough year for me racing wise, however after joining forces with Matt Kelly who is now my manager and driver coach, I have been presented with many exciting opportunities."

Matt Kelly underlined the potential he has seen in Jason: "Having worked with Jason during the 2010 season, it is clear that he has the talent to make a professional driving career in Touring Cars or GT racing, we are very excited to be competing in the final Clio cup rounds of the year at Brands Hatch and it is great preparation for the 2011 season.

"Racing with JHR is the perfect choice team wise as they are former champions in the Clio series, and I have known team Principle Steven Hunter for many years and raced against his brother Jamie back in the 1990s in the MGF Cup series, we are all very excited about Jason's debut in the series."

Jason added: "The Clio Cup drive at Brands next weekend is something we've been working on together to secure, I'm really looking forward to getting out on track and showing what I'm capable of."

Jason will be out on track in the Renault Clio for the official test day on 8 October ahead of the final rounds of the season on 9/10. The race format sees the qualifying and first race of the weekend take place on the Saturday with the final race of the season taking place on Sunday.

Both rounds of the ELF Renault Clio Cup championship will be televised on ITV4 on 10 October with the final race of the season coming live from the Kent circuit.
