Young Queensland driver Benn Wilson has signed a last minute deal that will see him on the grid in Adelaide this weekend aboard a Team Brock Holden V8 BRute.

The deal will last for the entire season, and will see Wilson line up alongside experienced campaigner Damien White.

Wilson, a former champion in the Queensland Gemini Series is no stranger to V8 BRute competition, having made his debut in the class two seasons ago aboard the Pentaq sponsored Ford on the daunting streets of Adelaide.

It was only his fifth ever race meeting, but he none-the-less impressed many, especially after narrowly missing a massive pile up through the flat out Dunlop Sweeper.

Wilson also raced late last year at Indy and Bathurst for Team Brute Strength, with a strong showing at Bathurst in the Great Aussie Ute race with his brother Cameron.

The late call up has forced a last minute flight to Adelaide to make the opening practice sessions for Adelaide.

"The call came completely out of the blue; I thought I would only get minimal Gemini racing in this year and then this... I'm still pinching myself.

"To drive for Team Brock is a great honor, "said Wilson.

Team Brock will field cars in multiple classes this season, with James Brock excited about the prospect of having Wilson aboard for the season.

"We decided to give Benn the drive for the year because he is a young up and comer, and did a great job last year in an inferior car," said Brock.

"We think he can go a long way in Motorsport."

Wilson will continue in his role at Job's On Motorsport and Car Sales, which includes maintaining the Commodore Cup car of Christian D'Agostin, as well as around 15 cars in three classes at Queensland State Championship level.

Job's On specialize in race car leasing, and is based on the Gold Coast.
