Having left his Rugby League career behind in 2001 Jack Elsegood has certainly made his mark in motor racing this year, forming his new company JE Racing Pty Ltd and competing in the PROCAR V8 BRute Championship Series, he has taken to the sport with incredible ease.

Adelaide's Clipsall 500 saw Elsegood's driving debut where he moved up 2 positions from his start at 15 and by round 3 at Oran Park was certainly living up to his nickname 'The Hustler' as he was jumping from a start position of 13th and finishing 4th. Each race is providing him with more experience and skill and this was shown on the Winton Raceway in round 4 when Jack returned to the track in spectacular form to finish in 2nd position after starting from 5th place in race 1 also achieving the fastest lap time.

This weekend at Queensland Raceway was the 5th meet for Elsegood and only his 4th race of the season having missed out on round 2 in Tasmania due to crash damage from a 5 car collision at Adelaide's Clipsall 500, Elsegood hit the wall to avoid the other cars at a speed of 200kmh in the 3rd race. He was back on form at the Queensland Raceway and is currently positioned 12th out of 33 entrants in the series.

The Brute drivers have come under scrutiny for their boisterous and somewhat dangerous driving tactics in recent weeks with many of the utes coming away with extensive and costly damage due to careless driving and neglect for safety.

Jack has been complimented by observers and critics for his smooth handling and driving ability on the track, in a field that is not renowned for it's celebrities the BRutes have attracted some new faces this year with personalities such as Channel 10's Grant Denyer, Country Music Singer Adam Brand and Peter Brock's son, James Brock as well as the former league star himself. Known for their fast cars and an even faster life style it's no wonder he's fitted right in. The series also features legendary driver Allan Grice and is certainly a catagory that is gaining recognition not only here in Australia but Internationally.

Jack says he's having as much fun on the track as any moment he experienced in rugby league, having left the sport due to constant injury and enabling him to pursue his passion for motor racing, he has at 28 succeeded in accomplishing a variety of personal goals and ambitions. Based on Sydney's Northern Beaches Jack is a successful property developer that has self funded his new career with the assistance of sponsors such as 1800 Reverse, Castrol, Wurth, Disc Brakes Australia and Dr Shocks.
