Si sono conclusi sul velocissimo tracciato di Rijeka (HR) i test della Vergani Racing in preparazione al Campionato Europeo di Formula EFDA 2000. Nell'occasione agli abituali piloti della VR, il brasiliano Carlos Domingos ed il cileno Cristiàn Mackenna, si è aggiunto il croato Domagoj Jurcic, vincitore di alcune prove del locale campionato di Formula Opel. Le prove, previste inizialmente su due giorni, si sono concluse anzitempo causa un rovinoso incidente del quale è stato protagonista il ventenne Jurcic che, in una delle curve più veloci del tracciato, ha perso il controllo della monoposto, urtando violentemente le barriere di protezione e poi ribaltandosi. Il pilota non ha subito conseguenze nell'incidente, se non qualche leggera contusione, la vettura è andata invece completamente distrutta. Ora la Vergani Racing dedicherà tutto il mese di marzo all'allestimento delle nuove vetture, in preparazione all'inizio del Campionato previsto per il prossimo 18 aprile sul circuito belga di Zolder.
