Red Bull GRC marches on this weekend with two rounds of action at the iconic Daytona International Speedway, the second doubleheader event of the year. Supercar points leader Tanner Foust enters the event as defending race winner. This year’s Red Bull GRC Daytona course will be the series’ fastest yet, with a .742-mile layout that features 12 turns and a flowing dirt section.

NBC Sports will broadcast this weekend’s Global Rallycross race live from Daytona International Speedway on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Scott Speed - No. 41 Volkswagen Beetle GRC

• Speed set the quickest laps today in the No. 41 BFGoodrich Beetle GRC at Daytona International Speedway for this Father's Day weekend double-header event.

• Despite pacing final practice with a lap time of 37.599, a fire forced the father of two to make an engine swap and miss qualifying, leaving him at the back of the grid for tomorrow’s heat races.

“It’s tough right now for everybody, but like I said fortunately we are not in the position where we’re scrambling just to finish races. We know our package is good and we know it can run and that’s the most important thing—just to be consistent and to finish. We got really lucky in Phoenix to finish that first race with the failure that we had. So it’s all about collecting points right now and so far we’ve been able to do that."

Tanner Foust - No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Beetle GRC

• Foust posted the fastest time of the first round at 37.113 seconds, but fell off slightly in the final round to relinquish his three-race pole streak.

• The reigning Daytona Global Rallycross race winner and current points leader will start on the pole of Heat 1B tomorrow.

"It's great to be here at Daytona International Speedway - it's definitely a premier facility, so it's awesome to come here and put on a good show for these amazing race fans. We have been chasing the setup on this surprisingly tricky track all day. The jump has been pretty exciting today and once we get car-to-car it's going to be even more difficult. Qualifying second is good, would have been nice to keep the pole streak going, but (Patrik) Sandell put in an awesome lap and I made a small mistake on the first lap so I had no chance to get it back. However, looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow and hopefully walking away with another podium finish for the Rockstar Energy Drink Beetle GRC."
