Woodbridge, Ont. (March 28, 2012) — AIM Autosport Team FXDD is excitedly looking forward to racing its Ferrari 458 Italia GT Grand-Am in the upcoming race at Barber Motorsports Park, near Birmingham, Ala., the site of round two of the 2012 Rolex Sports Car Series. The team has been hard at work during the eight-week break since the season opener, the Fiftieth Anniversary Rolex 24 at Daytona. Making its racing debut, the FXDD Ferrari 458 finished eighth in the gruelling 24-hour race.

During the two-months between races, the team has completely disassembled and inspected the car and made a few more modifications to adapt it to racing in the Rolex Sports Car Series. Crew members are now anxiously looking forward to evaluating their work and receiving feedback from drivers, Emil Assentato and Jeff Segal.

The team believes its car will perform well on Barber’s quick corners, but weather is likely to play a major role this week. Forecasts for today and tomorrow, testing and practice days, are for sunny weather and highs of 28ºC (83ºF), but Friday and Saturday, qualifying and race days, look likely to see wet running as rain appears in forecasts.

AIM Autosport Team FXDD has yet to run its 458 Italia in wet conditions, but is confident that the Ferrari will perform as well in the wet as does in the dry.

“I am looking forward to Barber as it has been a long break since Daytona,” said Race Engineer, Ian Willis. “The track layout, with all its turns and elevation changes, should suit our car very well.”

“I’m very excited to see where we stack up after this long period as our team has been busy prepping the car,” added Sporting Director, Andrew Bordin.
