COMPUSA TEAM STARTS SEVENTH AT BARBER MOTORSPORTS PARK

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (July 29, 2006) -- CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates' Luis Diaz turned in a top time of 1:22.797 (100.004mph) on his seventh of 11 timed qualifying laps at Barber Motorsports Park this afternoon to place the no.01 CompUSA Lexus-Riley seventh on the grid for Round 11 of the Rolex Sports Car Series.

Diaz rolled off fifth in the Daytona Prototype qualifying queue, positioning himself in the 25-car DP pack for a clean run around the 2.3-mile road course. At the conclusion of the 15-mintue session, Diaz found himself just 0.775-seconds off the time of the polesitting no.76 Krohn Racing machine.

Tomorrow's Porsche 250 presented by Bradley Arant, Round 11 of the Rolex Sports Car Series season, airs Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET on SPEED Channel.

LUIS DIAZ "The car developed a huge push in qualifying for one reason or another. I worked on the car in the session -- trying to play with the bars to loosen it up -- but nothing seemed to make enough of a difference unfortunately. We'll go back and see what we can do to change the car's attitude for the race tomorrow. We'll have to get the most out of the morning warm up session, as Scott [Pruett] and I will have a lot of things to try out on the car before the race. The CompUSA guys are always on the ball, so I'm confident we'll get the car up to speed."
