Carter and Plumb head to Road Atlanta for CTSCC debut event

Fall-Line Motorsports Al Carter and Hugh Plumb are heading to Atlanta, Georgia with a new challenge in mind. On Saturday, they will compete in the 4th round of the 2013 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at Road Atlanta, Georgia.

After the first three races, Al Carter and Hugh Plumb did not score the championship points that they were looking for to remain in contention to win the 2013 team or driver championship. The retirement of the No. 45 Eagle Technology Systems /B+ Foundation / Jetset Magazine Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3 with gearbox problems two weeks ago at Barber forced the two drivers to rethink their strategy for the next races. The goal for Carter and Plumb since they started their B+ Racing program with Fall-Line Motorsports in 2011 has been to win races and ultimately the CTSCC championship. To win the CTSCC championship, drivers must finish in the top five at every race as well as get a high dose of luck which has evaded the two B+ racers since Daytona. With eight races to go in the 2013 series, it is time for Carter and Plumb to focus on racing all out at the front of the pack without thinking points anymore.

The three Fall-Line Motorsports 45, 46 and 48 teams have been a threat to win since Daytona. Fall-Line Motorsports had a successful test at Road Atlanta this winter. They are confident that their three BMW machines should perform well on the 2.54-mile Road Atlanta road course that will welcome Grand-Am CTSCC racers for the first time since the inception of the series.

AL CARTER'S PRE-RACE QUOTE: "I have tested at Atlanta before and I think we should be competitive from the time we unload off the truck. The car has been fine but we had a crash at Daytona, we missed fuel strategy by one lap at Austin and we lost 4th gear at Barber. Other than that the car has been running good. We are a good team but have not gotten a good finish yet. We cannot worry about where we are in the points and where we are going to finish. We have to go there and run safe. We just have to do what we always do and not worry about what we did in the last races. We have to be consistent and run our butts off. We have a good car and an awesome crew and Hugh and I will be OK and will get a decent finish."

HUGH PLUMB'S PRE-RACE QUOTE: "I think we will have a strong result at Road Atlanta. We had a successful test there a couple of months ago and feel confident of what we are up against. We have had some mechanicals and unfortunate race incidents during the first 3 races that have put us out of championship contention. With this being said our goal remains the same, "putting the car on the podium", which I am very confident of!"

B+ RACING FIGHTING CHILDHOOD CANCER TOUR: On Wednesday afternoon April 17, Al Carter, Hugh Plumb and The B+ Foundation will visit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta the Aflac Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Egleston.

The CTSCC event at Road Atlanta, round 4 of the 2013 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge will officially start Thursday, April 19 with two 45 minute practice sessions in the morning and qualifying in the afternoon at 3:25 PM ET. The start of the 2.5 hour race is set for 11:30 AM ET on Saturday, April 20.
